Explore the cultural life of Denmark! Danes love museums and all varieties of collections. Here, everything from Viking relics, toys and veteran cars to world-class art is collected and put on display - be it in magnificent halls and galleries or in more humble surroundings.
As a matter of course, Denmark pays tribute to many of her famous sons and daughters. In Copenhagen, for instance, the world-famous sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen has his own museum, and in Odense, on the island of Funen, you will find Hans Christian Andersen’s Museum. Århus - the "capital" of Jutland - has gained considerable international recognition in opera circles for its annual Wagner festival and The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen houses no less than three artistic genres under one and the same roof: drama, opera and ballet.
All in all - outdoors as well as indoors you will find the cultural life of Danmark to be a wide-ranging, diverse and challenging experience.
